High Deductible Plans

A Special Word about High Deductible Health Plans

We like high deductible insurance plans, and think you should too.  High deductible plans, which are coupled with a Health Savings Account ( HSA ) provide for substantially lower premiums while allowing pre-tax funding of the HSA.  It does what insurance traditionally was meant to do, protect you from a financial catastrophe due to a medical illness, while allowing you to save for the smaller stuff.  In addition, many of these plans completely cover preventive services.  If any money is left over in your account, you get to keep it!   This motivates you to get well, stay well and choose cost-effective strategies for your medical issues, should they arise.

Why do we like them?  Because our model looks out for your financial, as well as your medical health, by helping to facilitate not only the highest quality but also the most cost-effective, care.  We do this in a number of ways. Our fees are generally lower than larger groups, by virtue of our lack of negotiating ‘clout’.  By being directly available after hours, we can advise you as to the most appropriate after-hours care, which may save an expensive ER visit.  As an independent practice, we have no financial link to any testing facility; we are glad to send you wherever it makes sense for you.  Most importantly, we have the time to discuss various treatment options with you, arriving at a plan that suits your needs.
